Audrey J. Penrod, age 97 of Springboro, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Hillspring of Springboro, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 1, 1926, in Farmersville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Marie (Mobley) Naylor and Wesley Alexander.

Mrs. Penrod attended the West Carrollton Assembly of God, the Miamisburg Assembly of God, Jesus Costal Ministry, and most recently Sure Foundation Ministries in Harveysburg. Audrey was an artist, and she loved to draw, she was an accomplished accordion player. She liked the birds, fall was her favorite season, and she enjoyed listening to opera music, especially when her grandson was singing opera.

Preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Robert W. Penrod on Oct. 19, 2013, her grandson Jonathan Penrod, 2 brothers Richard Alexander and Lloyd Alexander, and by her sister Doris Bowman.

She is survived by her loving children Joyce Griffith, Sheilah Dunn and husband Allen, Amy Pearson and husband Timothy, Steven Penrod and wife Connie, and Mark Penrod and wife Shirley, her sister Marjorie Zechar, 18 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton with Mr. Steven Penrod officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (2 hours prior to service) on Tuesday at the funeral home. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the Highland Memorial Cemetery.
