Bowden, Alta, age 91 of Dayton, passed away Friday, November 16, 2012. She was born October 14, 1921 in Fletcher, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Samuel & Sarah (Cottongim) Hubbard. Alta was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church. Preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters, John & Willie Hubbard, Zona Brown, Bessie Wilson, Addie Black, Nellie Wright, Bertha Thomas, Ida Marlow, and Dorothy Fore. Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years Billy Robert Bowden, 2 sons Thomas Bowden and Jeffrey Bowden both of Dayton, her daughter Linda Ohrt and husband Paul of Mulvane, KS, 3 grandchildren Sarah Arthur and husband Dave of Derby, KS, Michael Ohrt and wife Brandy of Palestine, TX, Rachel Johnson and husband Adam of Wichita, KS, 5 great grandchildren Bowden Arthur, Riley Arthur, Michael Ohrt, Annabelle Johnson, and Trenton Johnson, and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the SWART & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton with Rev. Larry Lambes officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:30 until the time of service.
