Alice Miller, age 82 of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Kettering Health Network – Dayton, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 19, 1942, in Helechawa, KY, the daughter of the late Buford & Dovie Mae (Poe) Puckett.

Mrs. Miller was a retired Seamstress for Dayton Bag & Burlap with over 20 years of service. She attended the Corner Stone Baptist Temple. Alice enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, she loved all types of animals, and shared the love of animals with all her family and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband William B. Miller on April 6, 1995, her 2 brothers James Puckett & Arthur Puckett, and by her 5 sisters Mary Lee Banks, Nora Sparks, Dorothy Peskin, Nancy Terry and Bertha Howard.

She is survived by her loving children Roy Hurt, Steve Hurt, Phyllis Jean Palmer, Barbara Ann Riggins and husband Maurice, and Lisa Sweitzer and husband Ben, her brother Rodney Puckett and wife Pat, her sister Ethel Mae Dunn, 7 special grandchildren Faith Lopez, Charity Vanscoy, Jaime Nasdeo, Jamie Hurt, Elisha Amlin, Myranda Rector & Cody Hurt, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, special niece Brenda McGowan and husband John, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton with Rev. Dr. Joel Getts officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. (1 hour prior to service) on Friday at the funeral home.
