Faust, Sr., Rev. Richard F., age 86 of West Carrollton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton after a courageous 3 years battle with a rare form of cancer. He was born on September 29, 1931 in Ft. Wayne, IN, the son of the late Norman J. & Margauite L. (Kuhn) Faust. Rev. Faust was an active Lutheran Minister serving at Trinity Lutheran Church at Vermilion on the Lake, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church /Pleasant Valley in Lucas, OH, First Lutheran Church in Shelby, OH, and retiring from Grace Lutheran Church in West Carrollton, OH, after 25 years of service. After his retirement he continued to serve as interim and supply Pastor at miscellaneous church’s in Ohio including St. Jacob’s Lutheran in Jackson Center & Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in West Milton. Rev. Faust was also a prior member of the West Carrollton Lions Club, West Carrollton Ministerial Society, West Carrollton Food Pantry, along with Operation Share Christmas and served on the Board of Directors for Bethany Lutheran Village. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Joyce (Ober) Faust, his 2 daughters Lori Faust and husband Jerry Miracle, Christi Menke and husband Peter A., his son Richard F. “Rick” Faust, Jr., 4 grandchildren Dr. Tiffany L. Menke, Lindsey (Menke) Weaver and husband Johnathan, Richard F. “Erick” Faust, III, and Hillary Lin Faust, as well as numerous friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 470 S. Gebhart Church Rd., Miamisburg, Bishop Suzanne Dillahunt will preside over the service and the Rev. P. Daniel Fant will be the liturgist. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church on Saturday.
