Eldon Moses Obituary

Moses, Eldon L., age 92 of Miamisburg, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at The Laurels of West Carrollton surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on January 28, 1926 in Alexandersville, OH, the son of the late Osbun & Cora (Kline) Moses.

He was a retired Machinist for Allied Screw Products & Apex Tool & Die with over 40 years of service. Mr. Moses honorably served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army Airborne Rangers; receiving 3 Purple Hearts, a Silver Star & Bronze Star, a Decorated Member & Canteen Manager for the VFW Post #3438, West Carrollton. Eldon coached Little League & was the  Past President of the Bell Civic Little League, and he was an avid bowler.

Preceded in death by his first wife Katherine E. Moses, 4 brothers Harry, Otto, Osbun & Kenneth Moses, sister Mary Henrietta Houchins, step-son Karl Gretzinger.

He is survived by his wife Juanita (McClain) Moses, 2 sons Jim Moses (Gail), Steve Moses, 2 step-sons Larry Gretzinger (Diane), Erich Gretzinger (Jeanne), step-daughter Benita Spain (Tom), 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

 A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 7, 2018, at the VFW Post #3438, 5441 Marina Dr., West Carrollton with Chaplain Don Leicy officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. at the VFW. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the VFW #3438 or to Hospice of Dayton in Eldon’s memory. The VFW Post #3438 and American Legion Post #165 will conduct Military Honors. Arrangements entrusted to the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton. www.swartfuneralhome.com.
