Christopher A. "Chris" Martin

Martin, Christopher A. “Chris”, age 62 of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 26, 2019 at the Ohio Hospice of Miami County – Upper Valley Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born on May 31, 1957 in Dayton, Ohio.

Chris was a graduate of Southview School. He lived with his loving family at Resident Home Association for 14 years. He participated with the Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Special Olympics (Basketball & Bowling); he was a longtime employee of the Dorothy Lane Market, and loved watching the Cincinnati Reds, Dallas Cowboys and the Bengals.

Preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Lee (Hudgel) Bailey, his step-father Pete Bailey, his sister Susan Martin, and by his brother Daryl Bailey.

He is survived by special cousins Becky & Bruce Shiverdecker, Angie & Jesse Klein, Brian & Anna Shiverdecker, Cameron Klein, Sydney Klein (his partner in crime) and Gunner Shiverdecker, his sister Paula Martin, his 3 brothers Nick Martin, Gordon Bailey & Joe Bailey, as well as numerous other relatives and many friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the Highland Memorial Cemetery, 723 Upper Miamisburg Rd., Miamisburg, Ohio 45342 . In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Hospice of Miami County – Upper Valley Medical Center, 3130 N. County Rd. 25 A, Troy, Ohio 45373 in Chris's memory.
